Globe trains Philippine agencies to detect mobile scams

Globe held technical training for Philippine government agencies on using IMSI Catcher Detectors to support enforcement against mobile-based scams, after turning over the devices in March. Representatives of the National Telecommunications Commission, Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center, Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, and National Bureau of Investigation attended the hands-on session. The training was led by Dr. Altaf Shaik of Technische Universität Berlin, who discussed how mobile threats exploit vulnerabilities in cellular networks and described ways to detect and mitigate them. Globe officials said the session focused on putting the detectors into operation, identifying rogue signals faster and coordinating follow-up among agencies after detection.

Philippine fuel retailers to cut kerosene by at least ₱10.86/liter

Visayas grid faces six-hour yellow alert Monday

Typhoon Domeng exits PAR as habagat rains persist

Typhoon Domeng, internationally named Jangmi, exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility at 11:30 a.m. Monday, June 1, without making landfall, PAGASA said.
